Agreed..... unfortunately the invasion of Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Bella Abzug, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, Edward Bernays, and Margaret Sanger DESTROYED the traditions of women taught be a wife, mother, and Homemaker, in exchange for protesting for their "rights", working, burning their bras, promiscuity, and abortion! And It's absolutely wrecked our country, children, and marriages!! And it's sad anymore that people have forgotten what sharing someone's life means. It's not about what's in it for ME, it's about pouring yourself out for someone else, and that can be a very beautiful thing.
I agree. When you approach life with a "what's in it for me" attitude, you're operating out of selfishness. When you stop to consider whether YOU have anything to offer, it changes everything. If you're acting out of selfishness, you will attract people of similar mindsets...selfish. Possessiveness also goes along with selfish, which is never in your partner's best interest. I think being able to live with yourself, should always be mastered before attempting to live with another. Trust is another big factor. Without it you're doomed.
Unfortunately, people are not taught and never learn how to get along with people. It's mostly selfishness and greed. That's why we have perpetual war. Thanks for reading and commenting. I hope you have someone.
Thank you for responding. Depending on our upbringing, and what behavior society, at large, rewards as success, what you say is very true. We were always steered toward the attitude of blaming others for what goes wrong in life and everything seems so "out of our hands", we have no control. But I can feel a shift happening, where we must take responsibility for everything that happens in our lives, otherwise we will never learn that it's all on us, that we have the power to change or create, at will. When we were kids, we had to relinquish power to the adults, but when we become adults, we have to take responsibility for it all, good and bad. Sorry I'm prattling on. Thanks for listening. And yes, I do have someone. I wish the same for you. 💟💟💟
Blaming others is a national sport. Especially for minorities and the left. It's hard to succeed without taking some responsibility. Maybe that's one reason so many fail at life. Have a great weekend!
I like your attitude! And you have a great weekend, as well. I have a whole lot of nothing planned and I mean to enjoy every lazy minute of it. Take care, friend.
I am single, but all of my friends who are widows always tell me that they would never remarry. They say that they are "done" taking care of someone. I think it would be nice to share life's journey and have a helpmate, it's challenging to find matches when you are older though. Take care and God Bless!
I rationalize that relationships aren't worth the effort but deep down I wish I had someone. It seems impossible to find the right person. I lost my two German Shepherds in the last couple of years. Tex is all I have now. He is 14, crippled, blind and diabetic. We are both on our last leg. God bless and keep you.

I figure it's too late for me. I gave up.
I’m in the same boat. What I see of and in society shows me I’m better off. Got my 2 dogs and that’s enough.
